Grief Circle + Wails Listening Experience
Come on over to the yurt and join a small group of us as we listen together to this album* entirely dedicated to grief.
We will open the space, have tea, and then settle and get comfortable as we journey through the POWERFUL and beautiful portal of this album together, which was created by Alexandra (“Ahley”) Blakely and a 200 voice community choir in 2023.
If you want to know more about this album, you can read more on their site here or check out Alexandra’s IG here.
After being introduced to Community Grieving Rituals and experiencing the palpable energy that can be released when witnessing each other, I want to offer something on a smaller, more informal scale.
There’s no cost to this event but registration is required
Donations are welcome and 100% will benefit the Sonder Project, which is working to bring clean water to villages in Burkina Faso, where Malidoma and Sobonfu Somé - the carriers of community grief ritual to the West - were from.
*This event is not sponsored by or affiliated with Alexandra Blakely, nor will she be physically present. Being so moved by this album, and by grieving and feeling in community, I wanted to offer a place and a moment to have this experience together.
